In a turn of surprising news it was revealed by “The World Professional Billiards & Snooker Association” that they are trying to gain a sport in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. This surprising news has caused people all around the world to break out in laughter as billiards isn’t a sport that requires physical effort of any kind. The Olympics originally and always has been a competition meant to adhere to the incredible talents of people who take to the limits of what can be done with the physical body.
The WPBSA was originally going to try to gain a sport in the 2024 Olympics but they are going to try to make the push for the 2020 Olympics. It’s not unlikely that we will see Billiards denied as a sport but if they are accepted it wouldn’t be the first time that a sport without true physical effort had been accepted into the Olympics only to be thrown out quickly. Even if accepted the mass majority wouldn’t even be aware of this Olympic programming and the viewership alone would cause for Billiards to be thrown out of the Olympic Association.
Billiards is slowly gaining popularity across the world but it is nowhere near the level of an Olympic approved sport. None the less this will be an interesting story to follow, we shall inform you of any new updates released regarding the future of Billiards entering into the Olympic Association. True fans of Billiards shouldn’t get their hopes up at seeing their sport in the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
